Decorating your rented cottage

English country cottages can be both modern and country like providing much independence to its users for decorating the cottage. Your home can be quite cosy, comfortable and close to nature. The country cottages are the ones that are decorated with soft and subtle colors and can also give bold and dramatic look to the home. Some of the colors that relax are green, blue, white and yellow.
For renting a country cottage, the furniture should be practical and comfortable. The wood colors should be matched with home decors. For instance, a light oak should be matched with dark colors. Fabrics should be chosen that provides soft and calm mood to the country cottage. The style should be cosy with floral patterns and laces.  The fabrics that are shiny should be avoided as they reflect when there is excess light in the room. If the windows are done with floral patterns then it is advisable to do solid colors on walls. The pillows and cushions should be done with matching the patterns with that of window. The stripped patterns should always be done with floral patterns to give a consistent look to your cottage.

While searching a cottage for rent, it is advisable to select a cottage that has maximum handmade items and as you set the cottage for staying in, you can choose tablecloths that are made up of linen. Quilts on sofas give a warm feeling and the pieces of quilt can be used to create wall hangings.
There can be electrical fixtures too installed when you come in but it is suggested to take the ones that are reattachable as you will be requiring them along once you leave the home. For bathroom showers, shower heads can also be used.
Whether or not there is a garden outside your cottage home, your search for a good cottage home ends when it looks lovely by plant pots outside. So bring in your favourite plants that you always wanted to have but never got the time to purchase them.
